4Guerrero (LF)4Yamada (2B)

9Itoh (SP)9Guilmet (SP)

The starters for this game were Itoh for Chunichi, Preston Guilmet for the Swallows.

Guilmet had a second straight good start for the Swallows, allowing one run in eight innings of work. Per usual however, the Swallows offense did diddly squat to support their starting pitcher as they only managed to score one run against Itoh, a guy who spent much of the season in middle relief. (Although one would say the exact same thing about Guilmet).

The Swallows lone run in the fifth inning on a Balentien RBI single.

The game went into extra innings with each club scoring only one run. Swallows relief ace Akiyoshi came on for the tenth inning giving up two straight hits before a wild pitch scored the eventual game winning run for Chunichi. Of course, the Swallows did not manage to answer in the bottom of the inning. 2-1 Chunichi final

With this loss, the Swallows officially guaranteed sixth place baseball for the season of the season.
