Streak: Lost 2     Last 5: LLWLL

(Kyocera Dome)

Six Hanshin pitchers combined to limit the Tokyo “offense” to three hits and four total runners. That was one fewer hit than last night’s game, for those keeping tabs on the futility.

Nothing to see here, really.

Only Yamada (2B), Rivero (2B), and Obiki (1B) were able to record base hits. Sakaguchi was the fourth runner via walk.

Tokyo batters sat down in order in six of the nine innings this afternoon, including the entirety of the fifth to ninth innings.

Meanwhile, the home side notched one run in the first on a Fukudome home run. Nakatani scored from third on a grounder to Yamada in the second, and two more scored on Rogers’s double in the fifth.

0-4 FINAL

Ogawa scattered six hits (one dinger) and struck out seven, but he also issued four walks and saw his ERA rise to 3.06 as a result.

Yamamoto (2.04 ERA) and Nakazawa (5.19) gave the team a scoreless inning each in relief.

Your Birds will attempt to finally put a run on the board tomorrow when Ishikawa faces Nomi. First pitch is scheduled for 2 PM.
