Hoshi started for the Swallows, Imanaga for Yokohama in the eighteenth meeting of the season between the two teams.

Coming off two straight bad starts, Hoshi bounced back in this game pitching seven innings and giving up only one run on two hits, six strikeouts and only one walk. Unfortunately, the Swallows offense were up against Yokohama’s Imanaga, a pitcher they have not been able to solve all season. That trend continued as the Swallows offense finished with a single run (a Fujii RBI hit in the second inning).

The Yokohama offense was also held to a single run (Miyazaki solo home run in the fifth inning) until they waited out Hoshi and got into the Swallows bullpen. The bullpen blew it again for the Swallows, this time it was Ishiyama and Matsuyama combining to give up five runs in the final two innings. 7-2 Yokohama final

The Swallows continue to wind their season down in hopes of playing the role of spoiler as they begin a three game series in Nagoya against Chunichi. David Buchanan starts for the Swallows, Valdez for Chunichi.
