INTERLEAGUE JOY POINTS:

  • Ishikawa pitched six innings of solid four-hit ball.
  • He got a wafer-thin backing of run support to the tune of one run, via a 5th inning Ueda triple and RBI sac fly from Nakamura.
  • The Swallows bats put at least one man in scoring position in each of the 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th innings, indeed a man reached third in three of those four innings. As you can see from the box score, elite level wastefulness occurred.
  • After Ishikawa departed, Ishiyama coughed-up the lead in the 8th (double, RBI single), but the rest of the bullpen kept Tokyo in the game. I’m not even going to be mad at Guilmet who gave up the sayonara run in the 10th off a single and a double in his second inning of work – he should have been pitching with a lead.
  • There’s apparently another game tomorrow and another three weeks of this bullshit.
  • Great.
