After Hara had opened the game with a perfect inning with two strikeouts the Swallows bats got to work against Iwasada. Araki drew a walk to lead off the inning. Sakaguchi grounded out to a fielders choice before Yamada singled to put two men on base. Yuhei essentially bunted the two over with a weak ground out to make it two out with two men in scoring position. The Tigers opted to avoid Coco’s bat by walking him on four straight pitches to load the bases. Obiki made them pay when he flared a 1-2 pitch the other way into right field. Fukudome couldn’t quite cut it off giving the Swallows time to score two runs. 2-0 Swallows

In the third inning, Yamda got a one out single and Iwasada plunked Yuhei to put two men on for Balentien. Balentien worked the count full before poking a single to right past a diving Itohara to score Yamada. 3-0 Swallows

Hara kept chugging along until he hit the sixth inning. Hayato Ito came in to pinch hit for Iwasada to lead off the inning and managed to homer to left. 3-1 Swallows Hara then conceded back-to-back singles and had to face the heart of the Tigers order. Hara managed to get out of the pinch by inducing three straight grounders to limit the scoring to just the homer.

Lueke pitched a perfect seventh and the Swallows handed the ball to Ishiyama for the eighth. Ishiyama gave up a one out solo homer to Takayama that cut the Swallows lead to one. 3-2 Swallows

Balentien got the run back to lead off the bottom of the inning with a solo shot off of Fujikawa. 4-2 Swallows Coco dedicated the shot to his mother for her birthday on his Instagram. We here at Tsubamegun would like to wish Astrid Balentien a very happy birthday.

Akiyoshi pitched a scoreless ninth for the save. 4-2 Swallows FINAL
