You knew things weren’t off to a good start when Ishikawa walked Tateoka to start off the night. Nakai and Sakamoto followed with singles to score a run. 1-0 Giants A small moral victory was had when Ishikawa got Murata to strikeout swinging, but the victory was short lived as McGehee homered to left. 4-0 Giants

A C***o walk followed by a Murata homer to left in the third stretched the lead further for the Giants. 6-0 Giants

The scoring was capped in the fourth after a Sakamoto double and a Murata single put men on for McGehee who scored Sakamoto with a double of his own. 7-0 Giants

The Swallows managed to get a bunch of singles off of Mikolas but nothing materialized. Swallows fans got one moment of joy when it appeared that Yamada had hit a three run opposite field home run to right field in the seventh. Unfortunately just as the fans had finished singing Tokyo Ondo the umpires decided to review the play and came back with a foul ruling. 7-0 Giants FINAL

Notes

  • Ishikawa lasted four whole innings and was responsible for all 7 runs. Guilmet and Kondo pitched two scoreless innings each, and Yamamoto capped things off with a single scoreless inning.
  • The Swallows will try to beat the Giants again tomorrow with Ogawa set to take the mound against Taguchi.

Hi Kozo, I was at this game with my daughter. It was our first ever baseball game. We both loved it. I’m now back in the UK, do you know if there is a way to watch the Swallows on satellite TV or anything like that? I’d like to follow them. Thanks Dom.
