Starters for this game were Beefy Randy Messenger for Hanshin, Tateyama for the birds.

Tateyama didn’t have his best stuff from the start as the Hanshin lineup got to him in the first inning. Takayama got on with a single, Uemoto followed with another single and new acquisition Itoi drove in Takayama with another single. Fukudome then walked to load the bases before Haraguchi and Toritani followed with two more hits and drive in two more runs. The first six batters all reached base to start the game. Uemoto added to the tally with a ground out RBI. Four runs, five hits, one walk, two left on base. 4-0 Hanshin

The Swallows quickly responded in the next inning as third baseman of the week, Yachi, continued his solid hitting with a runscoring double. Unfortunately with runners on second and third with nobody out, Tateyama, Ohbiki, Sakaguchi were retired in order. One run, two hits, one walk, two left on base, 4-1 Hanshin

The Swallows tied the game in the sixth inning. Hot hitting Nakamura and Yachi singled to lead off the inning. Ohbiki singled home Nakamura before Yamada cleared the bases with a two run double with two out. Unfortunately the rally came to an end with a Yuhei strikeout. Three runs, three hits, two walks 4-4 tie

Unfortunately for the Swallows, the sixth pitcher of the night, Sugiura made one mistake in the eleventh inning and Haraguchi hit a walk off home run to win it for Hanshin. 5-4 Hanshin

The Swallows continue their road trip with a triple header in Hiroshima against the reigning Central League champions. Kato starts for Hiroshima, Ishikawa for the Swallows.
