The Tokyo Swallows continue to play out the season with nothing to play for. On Tuesday night, they suffered a come from behind loss to the Tigers and fell to fifth in the standings.

The starters for this match-up were Yamanaka for the Swallows, Aoyagi for the Tigers.

First Inning: Hanshin got on the board first thanks to a Houjyo RBI double with a man on third. 1-0 Hanshin

Third Inning: Kawabata tied the game with a two-out RBI single. 1-1 

Seventh Inning: The Swallows took the lead thanks to a Toritani error as the ball went right through his legs. The Tigers quickly tied it in the home half of the inning however thanks to rookie Takayama’s RBI single to center. 2-2

Eighth Inning: The Swallows went ahead on a clutch RBI double by Nishida. Unfortunately for the Swallows, the bullpen blew it again in the home half of the inning. With runners on first and second base, Araki doubled home a run to tie the game. Umeno then followed with an RBI single to center to put Hanshin ahead for good. 4-3 Hanshin FINAL

Satterwhite got the win for Hanshin and Mateo picked up his 20th save of the season. Lueke took the loss for the Swallows, his sixth of the season.

As the season winds down, the Swallows will play their final home game of the season on Wednesday night in a make-up game against playoff-bound DeNA. The starters will be: Ishikawa for the Swallows, Imanaga for DeNA.
