For the second game in a row, your Birds managed only four hits.

Tokyo managed to get two runners on base in the fourth and sixth innings, but Ohbiki grounded out to short to end both chances.

Five Gomiuri starters had multi-hit games.

Tokyo’s 2-4 batters went hitless this afternoon. Yamada, however, got walked twice and beaned once after striking out in his first at-bat.

Lone bright spot: Iwahashi pitched two perfect innings of relief (23 pitches). He struck out three, induced two groundouts, and added one pop fly.

Tateyama starts for Tokyo tomorrow afternoon (2 PM start).

About Christopher Pellegrini

Christopher is a budding sabermetrician and long-time supporter of Tokyo's more lovable team, the Swallows. He has publicly volunteered, several times, that he plans to buy the team at some point in the future. When he finally runs the joint, it is likely that he will fine any player who swings at the first pitch or sac bunts (unless it's a pitcher, of course). Follow him on Twitter: @chrispellegrini
