The Swallows upped the speed on their 6th place baseball joy train, losing their fourth straight game on the bounce. That sweep in Nagoya now seems such a distant memory…

Soulless Ghoul

Davies started for Tokyo and wasn’t all that bad, aside from the fact that two of his four hits allowed were home runs. A two-run shot from the Piggy Soulless Ghoul in the 1st, and a solo shot in the 6th from the most punchable Soulless Ghoul wrapped up the opposition’s scoring for the evening.

Unfortunately for their starting pitcher, offence-wise the birds stank. After getting their first two batters on base in the 1st and subsequently stranding them, their only run of the evening came in the 2nd off a Nishida double and timely Araki bloop single to shallow centre. After that one-run second inning, they went hitless the rest of the way, meaning we had a “bit of puke in the mouth” 3-1 Yomiuri Final.

Should you be a glutton for more punishment, game two of this series starts at 2pm Saturday afternoon, with Yamanaka taking on Soulless Ghoul.
