 BayStars Swallows
1Takehiro Ishikawa (2B)1Tomotaka Sakaguchi (CF)

6Toshihiko Kuramoto (SS)6Atsushi Ugumori (RF)
7Koki Yamashita (3B)7Keiji Ohbiki (SS)
8Yasutaka Tobashira (C)8Yuhei Nakamura (C)
9Shota Imanaga (P)9Hirofumi Yamanaka (P)

Both pitchers were strong through the first three innings. With a Yamada double being the only baserunner conceded the first time through the order for either side.

Yamanaka hit a bit of a speed bump in the fourth. After getting one out, Yamanaka gave up a liner single to Kajitani. Another out later, Yamanaka battled with Tsutsugo but ultimately gave up a walk on 8 pitches. Yamanaka quickly got ahead of José Lopez 0-2 but Lopez kept fouling off Yamanaka’s pitches. Lopez’s fifth foul just eluded a diving Ohbiki, and unfortunately the missed out was costly as Lopez singled up the middle to score Kajitani. 1-0 BayStars

The Swallows finally got to Imanaga in the sixth. Sakaguchi lead off the inning with a beatiful liner down the first base line that was good for a triple. Kawabata promptly singled him home for the tie. 1-1 All But the Swallows couldn’t get anything more from Imanaga.

Yamanaka came out to pitch the eighth with a pitch count a little over 100. He walked Ishikawa on five pitches. Luckily, Ishikawa erased himself on the basepaths with a weak steal attempt. Yamanaka then walked Kajitani despite getting ahead 0-2 in the count but he got Otosaka to fly out for the second out of the inning. With the fearsome Tsutsugo up to bat the Swallows decided to make a mid-inning switch to Kyuko. The switch failed as Kyuko gave up a weak single to center, and the Swallows decided to bring in Akiyoshi to face Lopez. This switch failed spectacularly as Lopez took Akiyoshi’s second pitch yard for three runs. 4-1 BayStars

That was all the scoring for the game. Ultimately the Swallows were held to just four hits and a walk against Imanaga and the BayStars bullpen. 4-1 BayStars FINAL
