Jingu was both windy and chilly tonight. Both pitchers did well to stay loose in between innings and kept both offenses largely in check. Yamada cracked Ohno first in the fourth inning when we cracked a 1-1 pitch into the left field stands. 1-0 Swallows

Hirata managed to get the run back for the Dragons in the next half inning when we lined a high breaking ball into the same spot Yamada got his homer. 1-1 All

The Swallows took the lead in the bottom of the inning after Ohno allowed two runners via back-to-back walks. Ogawa’s attempt to bunt the runners over failed, but Sakaguchi singled back up the middle to score the go-ahead run. 2-1 Swallows Kawabata followed with an infield single to the second baseman. Kawabata’s running managed to induce a bad throw to first which allowed another runner to score. 3-1 Swallows

The Swallows scored one more run on Ohno in the seventh. Nakamura got on base with a one out single and an error on Ogawa’s bunt attempt put men on the corners for Sakaguchi. The newcomer made the most of his chance by hitting a single to center to score Nakamura. 4-1 Swallows

On the other side Ogawa was perfect after the Hirata homerun and retired the last 15 batters he faced and got the win. 4-1 Swallows FINAL
