The Scoring

Bottom of the first: after Ueda and Kawabata were retired, Yamada singled to right and then stole second off old man Kuroda. Lord Hatake then took a 1-1 offering and doubled to left, scoring Yamada. 1-0 Swallows

Bottom of the third: almost an exact repeat of the first inning. After Ueda and Kawabata were retired, Yamada singled to left and stole second on the next pitch. Lord Hatake then homered to left center. The Swallows off to a great start against Kuroda, who completely shut down them last time out. 3-0 Swallows

Bottom of the seventh: Kawabata walked, Yamada fouled out, and Lord Hatake walked. Yuhei then followed with a single to load the bases with two out. Kawabata scored on the next play, a wild pitch by reliever Imamura before Ohbiki stepped into the batters box to hit a double, scoring Hatake and Yuhei. 6-0 Swallows win

Meanwhile… Tateyama had one of his best outings of the season, going seven innings, walking none, giving up only two hits while facing the minimum 21 batters. Ondrusek then came in for his usual eighth inning role before Matsuoka came in to close out the ninth.
