Ishikawa came into the game looking to get his personal record back to .500. Unfortunately Ishikawa gave up a solo shot to Shirasaki, who just turned 25 today. 1-0 BayStars

Ishikawa was largely in control after that point although he gave up another solo shot to start off the third inning. 2-0 BayStars

Meanwhile the BayStars’ rookie Ishida kept the Swallows largely in check. The Swallows first hit of the game was a Nakamura double to lead off the third, but that chance was quickly erased as Nakamura was picked off of second.

The Swallows finally got to Ishida in the sixth when Yamada launched his 27th homer of the season into the left field stands. 2-1 BayStars

3651c5d5Ishikawa pitched into the sixth, but after getting two strikeouts to start the inning he loaded the bases and gave way to Matsuoka. Matsuoka got the last out and the Swallows bullpen was perfect the rest of the way with Akiyoshi and Ondrusek pitching a perfect inning each.

Unfortunately the BayStars bullpen was just as effective, Mikami gave up a two hits in the seventh but Herrera and Yamasaki were perfect in the eighth and ninth. Mikami, Herrera, and Yamasaki combined for 7 strikeouts. Yamasaki recorded his 32nd save of the season which set a record for rookies. 2-1 BayStars FINAL
