Meanwhile Yamanaka was mowing down Tigers like he was in ni-gun. Through five innings Yamanaka only gave up three hits. The Tigers finally got to him in the sixth as Fukudome got an infield single off of Kawabata’s weak arm followed by a Gomez double. Murton followed with the Tigers’ lone RBI with a sac fly to right. 5-1 Swallows

The Swallows coasted through with their second tier bullpen pitchers like Matsuoka, Nakazawa, Akiyoshi, and Yamamoto. Meanwhile the Tigers also brought out their second tier relievers out which meant the Swallows got to hit against Shimamoto in the eighth inning.

Dening got on base via an Gomez error to start things off. Obiki conceded an out by bunting the runner over. Yuhei absolutely punished a shallow-playing outfield by belting a hit off the left-center wall for a triple. 6-1 Swallows Nakamura got Yuhei home with his third hit of the game to center. 7-1 Swallows The Swallows brought out Hiroyasu to pinch hit for the pitcher, and he got his first homer of 2015. 9-1 Swallows While the Swallows faithful were still singing Tokyo Ondo Yamada belted his second homer of the game to deep left. 10-1 Swallows

As the Swallows completed their sweep. the Carp beat the Giants at Tokyo Dome. The Swallows found themselves with a 38-38-1 record over the Tigers’ 37-37-1 record, which according to CL tie breaker rules put the Swallows in sole possession of first place. The Swallows find themselves at the top of table for the first time since April 28th. The Swallows were in last place as recently as June 22st.

The Swallows will take the show on the road to Hiroshima against a team that has real pitching. Furuno will start against Maeda in the opener.
