The scoring:

Top of the first: Yamada led off with a single. Hiyane then followed that with the predictable, but stupid move of sac-bunting. Kawabata grounded out to short, but Yamada made it to third on the play. Hatakeyama and Yuhei then walked. With the bases loaded, Iihara cracked a line drive single to center, driving in two runs. 2-0 Tokyo.

Top of the fourth: Iihara walked, Aikawa singled, and Yachi loaded the bases when Gomez fumbled a grounder. Ogawa struck out, then Iwasada walked Yamada to give Tokyo a run. 3-0 Tokyo.

Top of the sixth: Aikawa singled, Yachi walked, and Ogawa successfully sac-bunted both runners over, at which point Iwasada’s game was over. Tsuru took the mound and walked Yamada on four low, outside pitches to load the bases. He then walked Balentien to give the Swallows their second walked-in run of the game. 4-0 Tokyo.

Bottom of the seventh: Ogawa started his at-bat against Gomez with a high cutter over the middle, Gomez hit a solo home run. 4-1 Tokyo.

Bottom of the ninth: Barnette took the mound. Murton, Fukudome, and Tsuruoka combined to gain a run, but not enough to catch up. 4-2 Tokyo, Final.
