Announcing the Tokyo Swallows Forum!

Or a bird for that matter.

We’ve been working hard to get the site switched over to a more *malleable site platform over the past few weeks. Other than the time constraints, it hasn’t been that tough at all (you’ve gotta love WordPress!).

And we’re very pleased to announce our newest addition to Tsubamegun, the Tokyo Swallows Forum! We hope that it will be one more way for this community to grow.

You can find the forum page up in the navigation bar to the right of the “Shop” button.

Actually, it’s four separate forums at this point, but the top (and most important) forum is dedicated to our birds. There are a couple of topics already started in there, so feel free to click on over and check out what’s going on.

The other forums, at this point, are NPB, KBO and MLB. Please feel free to start a conversation about whatever tickles your fancy (baseball related, of course).

The forums are actually pretty well kitted out, if we do say so ourselves!

For starters, there’s a community calendar that you can add events to (it will, of course, have game dates and times once the schedule is finalized), and a chat function (still being set up, sorry!) allows for more immediacy anytime you should desire it.

On top of that there’s a blog function which means that you can start your own if you’re currently in the market for a baseball-related home on the web, and the gallery function allows you to share albums upon albums of your photography from baseball games around Japan and across the world!

If you’d like, you can log in using your Twitter or Facebook account, but registering the old-school way is also an easy option. We hope that you will be very pleased with the forum that we’re currently configuring, so please feel free to leave any feedback that you have either here or in the Tokyo Swallows forum itself.

*And to return to an earlier point, for anyone who’s interested, this website is built on the Genesis Platform constructed by StudioPress. We’ve been very happy with it, and we’d vouch for those guys any day if you’re in the market for a WordPress template. Click here for more info if you’re looking to bring your WordPress site to life. Alternatively, there’s a Genesis icon over in the sidebar that you can click.

About Christopher Pellegrini

Christopher is a budding sabermetrician and long-time supporter of Tokyo’s more lovable team, the Swallows. He has publicly volunteered, several times, that he plans to buy the team at some point in the future. When he finally runs the joint, it is likely that he will fine any player who swings at the first pitch or sac bunts (unless it’s a pitcher, of course). Follow him on Twitter: @chrispellegrini
