Eve of Climax Series Stage One

The Yomiuri Giants are about to take on the Hanshin Tigers in the first stage of theCentral League Climax Series, and it will hopefully be one for the ages. While it still burns a bit that the birds couldn’t get over that last hurdle, it will be enjoyable to watch a Climax Series involving three strong teams.

For those of us looking on from afar, we’d like to provide a forum for what’s making its way through your head. What are your predictions and what are your real-time reactions to what’s happening–game by game?

If you have a feeling that Sakamoto is going to shine or that Fujikawa will make amends for playoffs past, then let it be heard.

He has publicly volunteered, several times, that he plans to buy the team at some point in the future. • Wow. Didn’t see that coming. Fujikawa looked like he shed about three pounds of pure sweat during those two innings at the end of the game. How many walks did he surrender? Kamei flying out to center with the bases loaded may have just barely guaranteed Fujikawa’s safe departure from the stadium, but at Koshien you never know.
