April NPB Status Reports at Trans-Pacific Radio

NPBWe just put up two new status reports at Trans-Pacific Radio where we’ve published other podcasts related to professional baseball in Japan.

The review of how things went in April in the Central League can be listened to here (the audio player is located near the bottom of the post.

And you can click here to listen to a rundown of what has been going on in the Pacific League so far this season.

We are planning to post status reports for each league on a monthly basis over at TPR. The two reports listed here were the innaugural editions, and we hope that we can make them better as the season progresses.

We’d love to hear your feedback on them, so please feel free to comment either on this post or over at TPR.

About Christopher Pellegrini

Christopher is a budding sabermetrician and long-time supporter of Tokyo's more lovable team, the Swallows. He has publicly volunteered, several times, that he plans to buy the team at some point in the future. When he finally runs the joint, it is likely that he will fine any player who swings at the first pitch or sac bunts (unless it's a pitcher, of course). Follow him on Twitter: @chrispellegrini

Thanks for this! It was a great listen!

As much as I find it annoying, I have to admit Sakamoto has been off the hook this year (sayonara HR today!). The sad thing for us TYS fans, is that his mentor/ batting-adviser on the team, is friggin Rami-chan. It seems our old pal has taken the youngster (as well as Suzuki, Kamei and other young Giants), under his wings, and taught him a couple tricks. I wonder if he did that with any of the young Swallows, while he was here??

  • Thanks for listening flick!

Yes Sakamoto has been annoyingly good this year………and all the more annoying that it’s Rami-chan who’s helping breed the current generation of young Giants.
