Streak: Lost 1   Last 5: WWLWL

(Kyocera Dome)

Tokyo played catch-up the entire game today.

With Tateyama on the mound for the birds, Orix plated two runs in the bottom of the second. Tateyama pitched four innings with just the two runs surrendered (four hits, five K’s, one beaning).

Barrett made his second appearance of the preseason as well. He pitched two innings and gave up three runs (two earned). He was followed by Igarashi who pitched one scoreless inning in his first game of the month. On for the seventh was Maruyama (one run), and then good ol’ Hagiwara showed up for the eighth and retired all three batters he faced.

Guiel continued his impressive preseason with a run-scoring triple in the sixth that continued a rally started by Yuuichi and later extended by Iihara.

Miyade also had a pinch-hit double in the eighth.

Tokyo batters only managed to draw one walk in this game.

About Christopher Pellegrini

Christopher is a budding sabermetrician and long-time supporter of Tokyo's more lovable team, the Swallows. He has publicly volunteered, several times, that he plans to buy the team at some point in the future. When he finally runs the joint, it is likely that he will fine any player who swings at the first pitch or sac bunts (unless it's a pitcher, of course). Follow him on Twitter: @chrispellegrini
