2009 Pacific League Preview (Podcast at TPR)

Trans-Pacific Radio has just posted a short podcast previewing a few of the ins and outs, at least where personnel changes are concerned, of the off-season for the six teams in the Pacific League.

You can listen to the podcast on your computer by going here.

About Christopher Pellegrini

Christopher is a budding sabermetrician and long-time supporter of Tokyo’s more lovable team, the Swallows. He has publicly volunteered, several times, that he plans to buy the team at some point in the future. When he finally runs the joint, it is likely that he will fine any player who swings at the first pitch or sac bunts (unless it’s a pitcher, of course). Follow him on Twitter: @chrispellegrini

    Chris/Dave,

Just settled down with a Styrofoam container of instant yakisoba to listen to your Pacific League preview and it just stops about four minutes in, mid sentence?

Something wrong my end or are you not turning the handle fast enough at your end (I don’t know much about pod-casts on the inter-web)?

    Phil

  • Phil,
Yeah, man, I don’t know what to tell you. I just listened to the podcast on my computer without a glitch. I’m using Firefox. Which browser are you using?

We hope that you are able to listen to the whole thing, and many thanks for clicking on over to TPR in the first place!

    Chris,

Could be, I was listening via Explorer in the office but I’ve got Firefox at home so I’ll try that…although I DID managed to hear the whole CL pod cast at work???

Love the shows; they complete my pseudo-Japanese baseball experience.

I live in London, England so I can easily get into Soho and the west end of Brewer Street is the nearest thing the UK has to a ‘Little Tokyo’?

There’s a Japanese supermarket, with it’s own bakery (I recommend the custard filled Doraemon buns, complete with glace cherry noses), The Rice Wine shop nearby sells Kirin and Calbee potato chips (free baseball cards attached) and a few doors down there’s a manga book shop where I can get ‘Sports Graphic NUMBER’ magazine for a mere £1.80 (I must say something to them, I think someone may have got the decimal point in the wrong place there?).

Add to that TPR and NPB’s new English website and I’m a happy as a pig in pooh!

    No problems here with Firefox.
    Thanks for doing this, guys!

  • Phil,
Glad that you were able to listen to the Ce League podcast, and hope that you are able to listen to the Pa League one as well. Hopefully it was just a temporary snafu that won’t happen again. Please let us know if you have any other issues using Explorer. That’s something that we would definitely need to look into.

We’ll do our best to keep the updates popping up on a monthly basis.

    Rob,
    Our pleasure.

    Thanks again!

    Seibu
    Lotte
    Rakuten
    Nipponham
    Soft Bank
    Orix

Lotte vs Yokohama in the Japan Series! Lotte takes the series in the 9th game. 2 games being ties.

Bobby V gets an extended contract. Chiba Lotte Marines will continue to grow. Btw. Lotte used to be the least popular team in entire Japan until not too long ago. Now Lotte is known to have the best fans in entire Japan. Quite a remarkable transformation. On the other hand, Seibu who keeps winning one pennant after an another fail to get the attention from it’s fans.
