7/26/08 – Yomiuri (Away)

July 26th, 2008
Tokyo Yakult Swallows 4

Tokyo Yakult Swallows cap

Yomiuri Giants 12

Streak: Lost 3. Last 5: LWLLL

(Tokyo Dome)

Yeah, this game wasn’t a whole lot of fun.

Much like last night, things started out OK.

It was three nothing after the first and four nothing after the fifth. But that was the end of the joy for the Swallows in this derby.

Basically, all you need to know is that Ramirez went four for four with six rbi’s and two home runs. On his own power, he had 12 total bases.

Yomiuri scored three runs in the sixth, three runs in the seventh and six runs in the eighth. It was ugly.

Starter Masubuchi gave up only two runs while reliever Igarashi gave up one, Matsuoka gave up three and Hagiwara gave up six.

Matsuoka (4-2, 1.66) took the loss for the Swallows while Yamaguchi (5-2-1, 2.37) snagged the win for the home team.

Game three is tomorrow 1:30pm at Tokyo Dome.
