Keiji Uezono got the win and Kyuji Fujikawa the save for Hanshin while Kyohei Muranaka took his ninth loss for Tokyo as the Tigers evened the series upon their return to Koshien.

After a scoreless 3 1/2 innings, Norihiro Akahoshi drove Aarom Baldiris home on an error by Shinya Miyamoto, making the score after four innings Hanshin 1-0.

Aside from substituting Kawashima for Wilson at third in the bottom of the 7th inning, Tokyo kept things constant in the field as Hanshin toyed with their lineup.

In the bottom of the 8th, Maruyama relieved Muranaka only to give up a hit and a walk, before being pulled in favor of Hagiwara, who gave up one hit and one run before closing the inning out. 2-0 Hanshin.

The Swallows then continued their unproductive night at the plate, leaving the score at 2-0 after 8 1/2 innings.

As Hiroshima also lost, this leave Tokyo one game out of fourth place. However, Chunichi won, pushing the birds one game farther from the playoffs as they prepare to face Hanshin at Koshien again tomorrow night.
