Tokyo Swallows 3

Series: Chunichi 0-1 Tokyo
(Nagoya Dome)
Game one of the 2009 Central League Climax Series kicked off in Nagoya with Chen on the mound for the home team, and Ishikawa taking the reigns for the visiting Tokyo Swallows.
And Tokyo came up with the goods versus a very sharp Chen.

Lim’s record before being deactivated from the first team earlier this month was five wins and three [...]

Yoshinori lasted eight innings, and the game went an extra frame before it was decided, but in the end it was another game for the ‘Loss’ column.

After Friday’s rather fortunate win, and last night’s thorough drubbing, the Tokyo Swallows looked to win its first three-game series of the month against crosstown rival, Yomiuri.
But in the end, Tokyo gave this game away, and what they learned [...]

Can anyone remember the last time Tokyo won a three-game series? Neither can I.
The birds went into this game hoping to catch the visiting Giants napping as they desperately seek a win or two to get their season back [...]
