For tickets to a game at Jingu, just get there a bit early and go to the box office – the three of you should be able to get in just fine. For the Giants, you can either try your luck at the Tokyo Dome box office, just as you would at Jingu, and, for a Monday night in May (esp. Interleague play vs. Orix), you’ll probably be all right.

If you want to get things sorted in advance, you could use convenience store machines or go to Pia. (If your Japanese is limted, Pia will be easier, as there’s a person to interact with.

At Jingu, early in the season, there might be some good merch around. Look for the Fan Club window, next to which, you’ll find the friendly guys from Grand Slam Sports Enterprises, who have the best-looking Swallows stuff. At the Tokyo Dome, go to To-Do, on the outside concourse of the stadium, near Gate 21.

Myself and two friends will be visiting Tokyo for the first time in May. We are three 21 year old males who among other things would like to catch a game or two while we are in town. I have been keeping up with http://tokyoyakultswallows.wordpress.com for the past couple weeks and am looking foward to seeing TYS as well as catching a game in the dome. What is the best way to go about getting tickets for these events, specifically the TYS home game on the 24th and the Giants home game on the 25th? Any extra info about these games such as how early to show up, where to shop for team gear etc would be greatly appreciated.

Great site guys – just come across it. In Tokyo since the spring of the last full on year for Yakult – 97. Watched them a fair few times at Jingu in the intervening years and have rarely seen a foreign face there – which makes this page all the more interesting.

In the off-season, you have three, maybe four, options of which I’m aware, Jon.

First, of course, is the website, which is only in Japanese.
Second would be the limited selection that may still be available in convenience stores near Jingu Stadium. Third, the shop To-Do, near Gate 23 at the Tokyo Dome is open year-round and carries some merchandise from all 12 teams.

Best, though, would be to get your hands on the stuff made by Grand Slam Sports Enterprises, whose chief is an occasional reader of this blog. I’ll shoot him an e-mail and see how they handle off-season orders. Once I get that info, I’ll post it here.

I’m currently staying in Tokyo. Do you know where I can purchase Swallows merchandise?

I know where the stadium and where the head office are, but do either of these locations have a shop?

The internet shop seems to be exclusively in Japanese.
