The Scoring:

Top of the third. Hojo led off with a single through the middle of the infield, advanced to second on a sac-bunt, then reached third on an Itayama single, scoring on a Toritani single. 1-0 Hanshin.

Top of the fifth, one out. Toritani homered off a low inside slider. 2-0 Hanshin.

Top of the sixth. Haraguchi and Gomez walked. Araki singled. Then Iwasada hit a high-bouncing RBI single to left. 3-0 Hanshin.

Top of the seventh. Takayama led off with a double and was followed by a Fuudome two-run homer to right off a low, outside forkball. 5-0 Hanshin, Final.

  • Haraguchi vs. bullpen? I don’t get it

    • That’s because it doesn’t make sense. Brain fart, unforced error, plain old sloppiness – call it what you will. Thanks for drawing my attention to the error.
