The Swallows dropped their seventh straight game in not so dramatic fashion as they fell 16-4 to the mighty Hiroshima Bottomfeeders.

Recently decimated by injuries, the current Swallows squad looks more like what you’d usually see down at the Toda Stadium, home of the minor league club.

Highlights for Hiroshima:

  • Johnson won his 10th decision for the second consecutive year.
  • 16 runs was the most runs scored by Hiroshima this season.
  • Arai hit his 300th home run of his career.

Highlights for Tokyo:

  • Nishida hit a home run to make the game competitive for a few moments.
  • A chance to see many fresh faces at Jingu Stadium, many of whom you’ll never see after this season.
  • A rain delay during the game allowed Swallows fan and the ouendan relive cheer songs of yesterday.

Starters for tomorrow’s ballgame at Jingu will be: Ryan Ogawa for Tokyo, Kuri for Hiroshima. Fingers crossed Ryan gets out of his funk and throws a complete game shutout.
