The Scoring:

Top of the second. No scoring, but Imanami was stretchered off after a collision.

Bottom of the second. Yamada led off with a walk and made it to third on a high-bouncing Yuhei single. Balentien then grounded to short, allowing Yamada to score. Nishida came in for Imanami, which would turn out to be a good move. 1-0 Tokyo.

Top of the fourth, two outs. Asamura singled to right, then scored on a Sakata double. 1-1.

Bottom of the fourth, one out. Nishida ended a 7-pitch AB by depositing a change-up in the away bleachers for the first time this season and only the third time in his career. 2-1 Tokyo.

Bottom of the sixth, two outs. Nishida, having what might be a career night at the plate, singled on a bounce past second, then scored on a Nakamura double. Kishi looked to be wavering, but ended the inning after a longish mound conference. 3-1 Tokyo.

Bottom of the seventh. Sano took the mound for the visitors. Sakaguchi led off with a walk, then cooled his heels at first a bit while Kawabata popped out. Sano then did what Kishi hadn’t wanted to do all evening and pitched to young Tetsuto. Two balls low and away, followed by a high inside straight that the Swallows’ poster boy hit for a two-run round-tripper. 5-1 Tokyo, Final.
