The Swallows continued their interleague schedule on Tuesday, starting a three game set against fellow sixth place team Tohoku in Koriyama, Fukushima, Japan.

Kyle Davies took the mound for the Swallows, Norimoto for Tohoku.

In what almost feels like a regular occurrence during the past few weeks, the opponent jumped on the Swallows starting pitcher and put the team immediately in a hole. Designated hitter Masuda walked on four pitches and Wheeler was hit by a pitch. Hijirisawa immediately cashed in this opportunity with an RBI double to right. Then with two out, rookie Okoe followed with a two run triple. Finally, Fujita had an RBI single to cap off the inning. 4-0 Tohoku

The Swallows responded in the following inning, taking advantage of sixth place Tohoku defense as Sakaguchi had an RBI single. 4-1 Tohoku

Nothing else happened until the eighth inning with Tohoku slugger Wheeler hit a home run. 5-1 Tohoku Final

The pitching line for Davies was: 5 2/3 innings, 7 hits, 4 earned runs.

The series shifts back to Tohoku’s home turn on Wednesday night as Radhames Liz goes up against Swallows starter Arakaki.
