The Swallows on Tuesday began a three game series against Central League leaders (by a wide margin) Hiroshima. Coming off a three game sweep of Chunichi at home, the Swallows also came in with momentum; momentum that would quickly be extinguished by Hiroshima.

Starters in this game were Yamanaka for the Swallows and Central League wins leader Nomura for Hiroshima.

With the game tied after three innings, Hiroshima showed why they’re the best team in the Central League by a wide margin. After Luna and Suzuki reached to lead off the inning, 39 year old professional hitter Arai and Matsuyama followed with RBI hits. 4-2 Hiroshima

Although the Swallows responded with a run in the sixth inning thanks to an Ohbiki solo home run, Hiroshima starter Nomura kept the Swallows bats in check giving up only two hits and two runs in seven innings of work. 4-3 Hiroshima Final
