Christopher called yesterday’s game a see-saw. The analogy holds for a series as a whole. Hara had another shaky Sunday, but it was Kyuko was most badly beaten, even though the scorecard will show Matsuoka bleeding the most. The Swallows might have used up the available offense for the series yesterday.

The Scoring:

Bottom of the first. Oshima led off with a single, advanced on an Araki grounder, and scored on a Nanita single – all to short. 1-0 Chunichi.

Bottom of the third, one out. Nanita hit a low inside cutter for a solo home run to right. Viciedo singled, then scored when Donoue doubled, then got caught trying to stretch it to to a triple. 3-0 Chunichi.

Top of the fourth. Ohbiki singled, Sakaguchi walked, and Yamada drove Ohbiki in for Tokyo’s only run of the game. 3-1 Chunichi.

Bottom of the seventh, one out. Oshima walked, then reached second on an Endo sac-bunt. Kyuko then beaned Nanita and got yanked. Matsuoka took the mound and threw his first pitch – a fastball down the middle. . . which Viciedo hit over the centerfield wall. 6-1 Chunichi, Final.
