Hiroshima Carp 7
Streak: Lost 1 Last 5: WWWWL
(Mazda Zoom Zoom Stadium Hiroshima)
Furuno started this game by trying to help the Carp get out on the basepaths and exercise more. He showed all the control of a teenaged boy being ured to do something stupid by a cute girl. The Tokyo offense, for its part, showed all of the scoring ability of that same teenaged boy.
|W: Maeda (7-5-0); L: Furuno (4-1-0)|
Furuno seemed completely unable to get the ball anywhere near the zone unless he gently lobbed it there. No joke.

Bottom of the fourth, one out (Maeda). Furuno continued putting together streaks and being a gracious guest bu giving up a single to Maru, then back-to-back RBIs to Kikuchi and Schierholtz. 7-0 Hiroshima.
Yamamoto relieved the badly battered Furuno in the sixth and got through the inning unscathed.
