The Swallows struck first after Hiyane lead off by getting plunked by Ohno and Kawabata followed with a single to men on the corners. Hatake continued his streak of RBI games since his comeback with a single to score Hiyane. 1-0 Swallows

Tateyama gave up the lead after he wobbled in the third by giving up a walk to Tanishige to lead off the third. Ohno bunted Tanishige over to second and Fujii got a single to score the skipper. 1-1 All

Yuhei lead off the fourth inning with a single and Ohbiki followed by belting a 2-2 pitch into the left field stands. 3-1 Swallows It was Ohbiki’s second home run of the season. Both Ohbiki homers have come at the expense of Ohno.

The Swallows got another pair of runs in the fifth off of Yamada’s 21st homer of the season which was a two run shot following a Kawabata infield single. 5-1 Swallows

The Swallows scored yet another pair the old fashioned way in the sixth. Dening lead off the inning with a single and was replaced on the basepaths by Miwa. Miwa stole second and got to third on a Nakamura single. Tateyama struck out bunting, but Hiyane got the bunt down to score one run with two out. 6-1 Swallows Kawabata singled up the middle for yet another run against Ohno. 7-1 Swallows

Tateyama made it to the seventh inning for the first time since his comeback. Unfortunately he lead off the inning with a walk and gave up a homer to a pinch hitting Hernandez. 7-3 Swallows But Tateyama got out of the inning without any further damage and ended up with a very respectable line.

Ondrusek pitched a perfect eighth, and the Swallows sent out Akiyoshi to pitch the non-save ninth inning. Akiyoshi gave up a walk to Hirata but got Takahashi and Oshima (in for Tanishige) out for two out. Unfortunately Akiyoshi left a meatball for Hernandez to get yet another two run shot to make things a save situation. 7-5 Swallows Tony came in to save the game, and despite getting Fujii to a full count, Tony won the battle by getting Fujii to ground out to first to end the game. 7-5 Swallows FINAL
