The scoring:

Bottom of the first. Yamada led off with a solo home run. 1-0 Tokyo.

Top of the fourth. Nakamura and Kakunaka singled to put runners on first and second. Cruz pulled off a successful hit-and-run and Nemoto hit an RBI sac-fly. 2-1 Chiba.

Top of the fifth. Tamura singled and advanced on an Ohmine sac-bunt. Kiyota drove him to third with a high-bouncing single. A Nakamura hit-and-run moved Kiyota over, and a Kakunaka walk filled the bases. Imae lined out to end the side, but not before driving in a run. 3-1 Chiba.

Bottom of the fifth. Nakamura and Morioka singled, then both advanced on a Yamada ground-out. Ueda hit a bouncer to second, allowing Nakamura to score. 3-2 Chiba.

Bottom of the seventh. Carlos took the mound for the visitors and Yamada welcomed him to the game with a solo home run to dead center. Ueda followed that by bunting safely. Kawabata singled and both runners advanced on a Yuhei ground-out. Hatakeyama then walked to fill the bases. This brought up Dening, who built on yesterday’s success with a grand slam. 7-3 Tokyo.

Bottom of the eight. Hiyane hit and moved to third on Yamada’s hit-and-run, which put men on the corners. An Ueda sac-fly drove Hiyane in. 8-3 Tokyo.

Bottom of the ninth. Barnette gave us a bit of a scare. Kiyota singled, Nakamura walked, and a Kawabata fielding error allowed Kakunaka to fill the bases. Imae grounded in a run, but Tony wrapped things up. 8-4 Tokyo, Final.
