The scoring:

Top of the first: Yamada led off with a walk and soon reached scoring position when Kawabata doubled, then home when Iihara grounded out. Balentien hit a line drive down the third base line for another run. 2-0 Tokyo.

Bottom of the first: With one out, Araki and Luna hit to put men on the corners. Morino then hit an RBI to center, leaving men on the corners. Morino stole second. Hirata grounded in a run. 2-2.

Top of the second: Hatakeyema doubled and Nakamura hit to put men on the corners. Yachi drove in a run with a sac-fly. 3-2 Tokyo.

Bottom of the third: Oshima hit safely, then got caught stealing. Araki then hit and stole second successfully. Morino hit an RBI. 3-3.

Top of the fourth: Balentien hit safely, then Yuhei got hit. Yamamoto then tossed a wild pitch, letting Yuhei reach second. Hatakeyema and Nakamura then hit back-to-back RBIs. 5-3 Tokyo.

Bottom of the seventh: Donoue doubled. A switcheroo and a K occurred, then Michihiro Ogasawara came to the plate to shout at the young’uns to get off his AstroTurf lawn. And to hit an RBI. 5-4 Tokyo.

Ogawa left the game in favor of Nakazawa, who got Oshima out on a foul pop up, then left the game for Matsuoka.

Bottom of the eighth: Akiyoshi took the mound for Tokyo. Morino welcomed him with a solo home run. 5-5, Unsatisfying Final.

Then both teams settled in to take up time.
