Ishiyama pitched the Swallows’ sixth quality start in a row. Unfortunately Ishiyama, like many of the starters before him, wasn’t able to get the win. Fortunately the team was able to pull a last minute comeback to come away with the win.

Once again Masahiko MOrino was the only source of damage for the Dragons. Today he lead off the second inning with a solo shot off of Ishiyama to take the early lead. 1-0 Dragons

Aside from that one mistake Ishiyama was looking better than the Dragons’ Yudai. However, Yudai wasn’t doing too badly and the Swallows’ couldn’t get the key hit they needed to score a run.

As Ishiyama handed off the ball to the bullpen after 6 strong innings, it seemed the Swallows were on the way to yet another loss. But then Yudai left the mound after the seventh and the Dragons gave the ball to Sobue. Sobue started the eighth by giving up a single to Iihara and a double to Coco. Yuhei followed with a single to score two runs and to take the lead. 2-1 Swallows Sobue followed by giving up a sac bunt, a dead ball, and a walk to load the bases. Dragons gave the ball to Okada and he managed to get a double play to end the Swallows’ chance.

But the lead belonged to the Swallows. Nakazawa and Akiyoshi combined to pitch a perfect eighth, and Barnette closed out the game in the ninth despite giving up two hits. 2-1 Swallows FINAL

Yuhei wins the game on a single swing.
