With today’s victory, the Birds have now notched a solid two wins in a row against the Buffaloes at Jingu. Not exciting? How about an 11-3 win on the back of a pile of late-inning runs? (Last year’s win was 12-2.)

1st inning: Ueda singled, Yamada drove him over to third on a hit-and-run, Kawabata drove him in. Yuhei and Iwamura then struck out, leaving two men stranded. 1-0 Tokyo.
Top of 2nd: T-Okada hit a fastball down the middle into the left-field stands. 1-1.
Bottom of 2nd: Aikawa doubled, moved to third, then scored on a Takeuchi sac-fly. 2-1 Tokyo.
Top of 3rd: Adachi tripled, Herman walked, then Itoi pulled of a successful hit-and-run, driving Adachi in. 2-2.
Bottom of 3rd: Hits by Kawabata and Yuhei put them on the corners, setting up an Iwamura RBI. Iihara grounded out, but Yuhei managed to score on the play. 4-2 Tokyo.
Top of 4th: T-Okada doubled, the pinch-hitting Itoh singled, putting men on the corners. A Hirano sac-fly then drove in Orix’s last run of the game. 4-3 Tokyo.
The bottom of the 7th was a biggie: Yamada walked and Kawabata sac-bunted him over to second. Yuhei walked, then Iwamura hit his second RBI of the day and was replaced on first by Noguchi. After a Miwa K, Aikawa hit a three-run homer to left. 8-3 Tokyo.
The bottom of the 8th was icing on the cake. Keizo Kawashima got in the game and singled. Yamada walked. Kawabata, in possibly the most exciting play of the game hit a two-RBI triple, then scored on a Yuhei single. 11-3 Tokyo, Final.
