Jun 7th 2014, vs Chiba

June 7th, 2014

Chiba Marines

Tokyo Swallows

Streak: Won 1 Last 5: LWDLW

(Jingu Stadium)

Trivia question: When was the last time that Tokyo had to cancel consecutive home games because of weather?

That’s right, this afternoon’s game got nixed as well. Narveson was slated to start the game for your birds, but now everyone gets an extra day off.

For the record, the Tokyo Swallows are still in fifth place with a 23-30-2 record. They sit one game clear of Yokohama and the bottom of the CL cellar. Frustratingly, the Swallows currently sport the best run differential in the CL at +7. League-leading Hiroshima are at +6, and then that’s it for teams in positive territory. That said, Tokyo has the worst team ERA with 4.86, so it’s not really all that mystifying that they’re in fifth.

If the weather clears up, Tokyo will host Saitama on Sunday (2 PM) and Monday (6 PM).

Rained out again.

Rained out again.

About Christopher Pellegrini

Christopher is a budding sabermetrician and long-time supporter of Tokyo's more lovable team, the Swallows. He has publicly volunteered, several times, that he plans to buy the team at some point in the future. When he finally runs the joint, it is likely that he will fine any player who swings at the first pitch or sac bunts (unless it's a pitcher, of course). Follow him on Twitter: @chrispellegrini
