In the third, Aikawa led off with a single, Kiya bunted him to second, and Hiyane singled him home. Kawabata followed that up with an RBI double. 2-0 Tokyo.
In the bottom of the fourth, Tsutsugo walked and Kinjoh singled to put men on the corners; a Goto sac-fly brought Tsutsugo home. 2-1 Tokyo.
Yokohama took the lead in the fifth. With one out, Ishikawa singled, Yamazaki safely bunted down the third base line, and Kajitani hit a three-run homer to right. 4-2 Yokohama.
Itoh gave the Swallows a run in the sixth. With two outs, Yuhei singled, then Itoh threw two wild pitches, allowing Yuhei to reach third. Hatake then hit a timely single. Itoh threw yet another wild pitch, allowing the player-making-a-move-to-lose-the-nickname-“Fludge” to reach second. Alas, Itoh also managed to fan Araki. 4-3 Yokohama.
In the sixth, Goto walked. Unsurprisingly, Itoh was yanked in favor of a pinch-hitter, Shimozono, who hit a timely single. 5-3 Yokohama, Final.
Tomorrow afternoon brings a shot at saving face.
