W: Yagi (3-8); L: Nishikawa (1-2); S: Fujita (0-0-1)

Two wins in a row. Two, count ’em. Two. A win for Yagi, too. He, and the Swallows, needed it. With an RBI and a win, this might have been Yagi’s best game ever.

Tokyo started the scoring in an interesting fashion. In the top of the second, Balentien singled, then got nabbed on his way to second when Milledge singled. Milledge then stole second and scored when Nishikawa threw a wild pitch. 1-0 Tokyo.

In the third, the Birds scored again when Ueda singled, stole second – a second steal this game – and scored on a Balentien single. 2-0 Tokyo.

Morioka walked to start off the fourth, then Nakamura and Yagi – yes, the battery – hit back-to-back RBI singles. 4-0 Tokyo.

Chunichi scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth and one in the ninth to make the game close, but Tokyo made it out with the win. 4-3 Tokyo, Final.

Sweep chance tomorrow.
