9/23/12 – Yomiuri (Away)

September 23rd, 2012

Tokyo Swallows 0

Yomiuri Giants 2

Streak: Lost 1  Last 5: WWLWL

(Tokyo Dome)

This was less fun than yesterday’s romp. The Giants are making sure a large number of their regulars stay in shape while Tokyo tries to add some mortar to the bricks of an A-class finish.

While Roman generally pitched decently, the first run came inthe fourth, and in the worst way. Abe singled, Murata was walked, and Kamei singled to load the bases. Ishii pinch-hitting for Matsumoto, was walked, which brought in a run. 1-0 Yomiuri.

Yamamoto gave up a solo home-run to Ota in the eighth. 2-0 Yomiuri, Final.

The Swallows come home on Tuesday, hopefully to cement third place by skinning the Tigers, or by applying some other bad metaphor to them.
