Tokyo has now dropped two series in a row.

| Milledge (LF) | 1 | Ohshima (CF) |
| Tanaka (2B) | 2 | Araki (2B) |

| Matsui (RF) | 5 | Ibata (SS) |
| Morioka (SS) | 6 | Tanishige (C) |
| Fukuchi (CF) | 7 | Yamasaki (1B) |
| Aikawa (C) | 8 | T. Donoue (RF) |
| Tateyama (P) | 9 | Yamauchi (P) |
Ohshima led the Chunichi charge with a 5-5 night, and both Wada and Morino chipped in with two RBI each.
The only noise in Tokyo’s favor was Hatakeyama’s first inning, two-out homer to overcome a one run deficit. It was his tenth on the season, and it marked three straight seasons that he’s tallied double-digit homers.
2-1 Tokyo.
But with Tokyo’s 6-8 batters going a combined 0-11 at the plate, and only Tanaka and Matsui reaching base more than once care of a couple of inconsequential base hits each, things never looked up for Tokyo after the sun went down.
Yamauchi allowed only five hits through seven innings while striking out four and walking one.
Meanwhile, Tateyama lasted eight full frames while striking out six, walking two, and beaning one. He threw 134 pitches while earning his seventh loss of the season. It’s only the second time he’s had at least seven losses since 2007.
Tokyo will next host Yokohama at Jingu Tuesday through Thursday.
All three games start at 6PM, and the game on Thursday will feature half-priced drafts for those buying a ticket to watch the game.
