    Haven’t we faced – and beaten – Lewis before? Couldn’t we review our notes and see he works quickly (so call time or step out or whatever to break his rhythm) and throws strikes (so be aggressive and swing the dang bat)? Ngah….

    Kasahara, the plate ump for 9/8 – you know, the one who blew the call on Tateyama’s fastball to Ishii? – did not work last night’s game. I’m hoping he’s been sent to the umpire version of the ni-gun or wherever they send naughty umps when they make blatant errors, but maybe he was just out getting his new glasses.

    It feels like we’re all standing around the Swallows death bed, still hoping for some string of hope. I think it’s time somebody faced the facts that the Swallows are not coming back, and it’s time to pull the plug. I’m calling it at 09:28AM, the Swallows have died, due to a lack of will to fight. 2009 season funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date….

      This is also true.

      Then again, I’ve got a horrible feeling that as the team showed so much promise in the first half of the season, they may just bring him back.

        I bet we see more of him next year. After all, he was a star player for the Giants, which means he’s a great manager. There will be an excuse found for why his extraordinary incompetence is not his fault.

    I turned up after three innings to see us 2-0 down. I drank beer and ate some crisps and KFC. Some kind of ‘based ball’ game seemed to be going on in front of me, but I found myself not engaged in it, rather like my team.

    The game ended and I left the stadium. The players of my team were walking to the club house. I shouted at the manager of my team as he walked past, but my abuse was in a language he didn’t understand.

    I then went home and went to sleep.

    The emotional well dried up last Friday. I found myself watching last night and the only way to describe how I felt was ‘numb’.
