Jamie D’Antona has been named the Central League’s most valuable position player for the month of July.

The infielder is in his first year with the Tokyo Swallows and has been a regular at first base this season. During the month of July, D’Antona appeared in 21 games and had a batting average of .416. His OBP was a healthy.477, and his slugging reached .701 for the month.
He had 32 hits in July and that included 10 multi-hit games (he had three hits in four of those).
As for rbi’s, Jamie knocked in a very impressive 25, and his six home runs that month were definitely a big help.
D’Antona has been a major factor in Tokyo’s run to what would be its first Climax Series appearance since the playoff system was put into effect in the Central League a few years ago.
