Of course, the fact that Adam Dunn appears to be running makes this look like a hoax.

Yes, dear reader, this has nothing to do with the Tokyo Swallows, or with NPB at all, other than to demonstrate that there are brief moments when even our oft-frustrating club can appear well-managed. What you’re seeing is apparently real – the photo having been picked up around the mainstream sports media in the US. The Washington Nationals, beleaguered by hosts of on-field problems and shelling out hefty sums for the likes of Ryan Zimmerman and Adam Dunn, while probably beating only the forgotten Florida Marlins and Kansas City Royals in attendance, have shortened their name to the “Natinals” to save a bit on sewing and “O”s for the home jerseys.

Who needs "O"? Next, a bid to reflect reality by doing away with "W".

    It’s a conspiracy. The GM of the Nats is none other than Jim Bowden, the former GM of the Cincinnati Reds. Adam Dunn came to DC via free agency after spending half a year in ‘Zona. He played the first half in the place that started his career, Cincinnati. In fact, if you look at a lot of the players on the Nationals, they were drafted by the Reds or played on the Reds some time in their career. That’s really bad since the Reds have not won the World Series since 1990 and most of the players are from the Bowden era of the Reds in the late 90s. That does not bode well for the beleagured Nats.

    By the way, the reason I think it is a conspiracy is that Cincinnati is shortened to ‘Nati by a lot of people. Bowden and the jersey make it official, the DC baseball team are the “Nati-nals….

    I did, but I think I saw that before. Seems the guy doesn’t have a lot of luck wherever he goes. It’s mentioned on his Wiki page too.
